It achieved a price of USD 8,225.00 (€ 9,136.86), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 65%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by François Claudius Compte-Calix; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Le rêve d'amour brisé sold at auction in June 2004 with the realized price of EUR 14,100.00.
