In April 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work A young man dressed as an Arcadian shepherd by François-Xavier Fabre. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 72,000.00 (€ 105,417.28), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by François-Xavier Fabre - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Edgar Clarke, Full-Length, In A Forest, which sold at auction in June 2007 for USD 336,000.00 (€ 248,520.71).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im April 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young man dressed as an Arcadian shepherd von François-Xavier Fabre zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 72.000,00 (€ 105.417,28) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von François-Xavier Fabre mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of Edgar Clarke, Full-Length, In A Forest beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für USD 336.000,00 (€ 248.520,71) versteigert wurde.
