In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work Ode To Dante (Recto); And A Knight Before A Vision of Christ (Verso) sold for GBP 10,800.00 (€ 15,866.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Franz von Bayros; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ode to Dante (recto); and A knight before a vision of Christ (verso) sold at auction in July last year with the realized price of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,569.96).
