The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,395.03), 41% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Frédéric Cordey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A captive audience in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,356.46).
