Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Fishing off the coast at calm by Frederick Schiller Cozzens for USD 1,434.00 (€ 1,164.91). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Schiller Cozzens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work American yachts, their clubs and races in February 2006 with an auction result of USD 72,000.00 (€ 60,377.36).
