Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2013 Christies in Mumbai held the auction South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Woman On Staircase) by Gaganendranath Tagore. It changed hands for a price of INR 1,375,000.00 (€ 16,165.90) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of INR 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gaganendranath Tagore have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bed Of Arrows (Bhishma) in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 113,648.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2013 führte Christies in Mumbai die Auktion South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Woman On Staircase) von Gaganendranath Tagore zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von INR 1.375.000,00 (€ 16.165,90) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von INR 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gaganendranath Tagore auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bed Of Arrows (Bhishma) im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 113.648,46).
