Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bird over Landscape, 2021 by Gao Huijun was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in September this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,560.00 (€ 2,418.75). Admittedly, works by Gao Huijun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Heard a Voice in the Lonely Dusk in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 19,833.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bird over Landscape, 2021 von Gao Huijun im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Sydney versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.560,00 (€ 2.418,75) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gao Huijun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Heard a Voice in the Lonely Dusk im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 19.833,69).
