Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Queen of Spades, 1995 by Garry Shead was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 36,900.00 (€ 22,374.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Garry Shead achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Queen Of Suburbia in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 432,000.00 (€ 258,325.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Queen of Spades, 1995 von Garry Shead kam im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Sydney zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 35.000,00 – 45.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 36.900,00 (€ 22.374,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Garry Shead erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Queen Of Suburbia im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 432.000,00 (€ 258.325,93).
