Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Studies of sampans by George Chinnery was sold in the Travel & Exploration Sale auction at Bonhams in London in June this year. The price achieved of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,117.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Chinnery achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Reeves Macao Album, 1836-1837 in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 332,800.00 (€ 487,180.19).
