Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2018 Christies in London held the auction Modern British Art Day Sale, which included the work Still Life with Roses, Fruit and Knife by George Leslie Hunter. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 127,144.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Leslie Hunter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With Tulips And Oranges, which sold at auction in April 2009 for GBP 433,250.00 (€ 484,118.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life with Roses, Fruit and Knife von George Leslie Hunter zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 112.500,00 (€ 127.144,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von George Leslie Hunter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life With Tulips And Oranges beobachtet, die im April 2009 für GBP 433.250,00 (€ 484.118,60) versteigert wurde.
