Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2011 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Sale, which included the work Cottage at Credenhill, near Hereford by George Samuel Elgood. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,578.02). Admittedly, works by George Samuel Elgood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses And Pinks At Levens Hall, Kendal, Cumbria in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,245.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Sunday Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cottage at Credenhill, near Hereford von George Samuel Elgood zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.578,02) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Samuel Elgood auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses And Pinks At Levens Hall, Kendal, Cumbria im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.245,92).
