The work Mission II by Georges Mathieu was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. It achieved a price of HKD 2,016,000.00 (€ 224,252.08), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. Admittedly, works by Georges Mathieu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tuz Gölü in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 18,325,000.00 (€ 2,038,402.44).

Die Arbeit Mission II von Georges Mathieu kam im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 2.016.000,00 (€ 224.252,08) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 68%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georges Mathieu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tuz Gölü im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 18.325.000,00 (€ 2.038.402,44).
