Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pierrot Solitaire by Georges Rouault was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art auction at Sothebys in Paris in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 62,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Rouault achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fleurs décoratives in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 644,000.00 (€ 761,679.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pierrot Solitaire von Georges Rouault wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 62.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Rouault erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fleurs décoratives im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 644.000,00 (€ 761.679,48).
