Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work La Femme Au Panier by Georges Seurat was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 729,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Seurat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Poseuses, Ensemble (Petite version) in November last year with an auction result of USD 149,240,000.00 (€ 144,570,376.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit La Femme Au Panier von Georges Seurat im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 729.000,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Seurat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Poseuses, Ensemble (Petite version) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.240.000,00 (€ 144.570.376,83).
