Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work In calm waters by Georgina M. De L'Aubiniere was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 258.50 (€ 418.25). Other works by Georgina M. De L'Aubiniere have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2002 by the work La navigation de plaissance at GBP 528.75 (€ 836.39).
