Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Marketvrouw Vendeuse - Java (Javanese Market Vendor) by Gerard Pieter Adolfs for HKD 27,500.00 (€ 3,158.67). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art at Sothebys in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Gerard Pieter Adolfs have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beeldhouwer Bali (Balinese sculptor) in October 2004 with an auction result of HKD 262,900.00 (€ 26,483.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Marketvrouw Vendeuse - Java (Javanese Market Vendor) von Gerard Pieter Adolfs für HKD 27.500,00 (€ 3.158,67) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerard Pieter Adolfs auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beeldhouwer Bali (Balinese sculptor) im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 262.900,00 (€ 26.483,89).
