Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Elegant company dining in a courtyard by Gerrit Pietersz. van Zijl was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,112.50 (€ 5,358.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gerrit Pietersz. van Zijl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A group portrait of a family in an elegant interior in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 50,400.00 (€ 36,896.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Elegant company dining in a courtyard von Gerrit Pietersz. van Zijl kam im April 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.112,50 (€ 5.358,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerrit Pietersz. van Zijl auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A group portrait of a family in an elegant interior im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 36.896,05).
