Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work At The Start, The Grand National by Gilbert Joseph Holiday. The price achieved of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,117.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gilbert Joseph Holiday - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tattenham Corner, The Epsom Derby, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 43,250.00 (€ 47,848.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit At The Start, The Grand National von Gilbert Joseph Holiday zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 15.117,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gilbert Joseph Holiday mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tattenham Corner, The Epsom Derby beobachtet, die im Juni 2011 für GBP 43.250,00 (€ 47.848,09) versteigert wurde.
