It achieved a price of GBP 161,000.00 (€ 183,348.96), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 34%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giorgio de Chirico achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 15,890,400.00 (€ 13,643,341.63).

Die Arbeit I giocattoli del principe von Giorgio de Chirico kam im Juni 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 161.000,00 (€ 183.348,96) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 34%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giorgio de Chirico erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.890.400,00 (€ 13.643.341,63).
