This artwork by Giovanni Battista Piranesi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in December this year. In the The Grand Tour Sale auction, the work Six plates from Vedute di Roma 6 sold for GBP 4,480.00 (€ 5,160.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Piranesi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An architectural fantasy: the entrance to a palace with a monumental staircase by a fountain in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 358,000.00 (€ 384,615.38).

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An architectural fantasy: the entrance to a palace with a monumental staircase by a fountain im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 358.000,00 (€ 384.615,38).
