The work God Creating the Animals by Giovanni Francesco Castiglione was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction at Christies in Paris in December 2012. It changed hands for a price of GBP 337,250.00 (€ 415,922.91) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, God Creating the Animals is the most expensive artwork by Giovanni Francesco Castiglione that we have observed at auctions so far.
