In June 2010 Sothebys in Milan held the auction Important Old Master Paintings, which included the work Maddalena Penitente by Giovanni Gioseffo dal Sole. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 9,375.00 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Gioseffo dal Sole have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Penitent Magdalene in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 84,319.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2010 führte Sothebys in Mailand die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maddalena Penitente von Giovanni Gioseffo dal Sole zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 9.375,00 und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giovanni Gioseffo dal Sole auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Penitent Magdalene im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 114.000,00 (€ 84.319,53).
