Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Un vieillard barbu avec une jeune femme by Giuseppe Piattoli was auctioned at Christies in Paris in December 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 176.25. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Piattoli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An album of thirty-six pages bound between boards, comprising compositional and academic studies, including scenes from the Old and New Testament and classical mythology in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,138.08).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An album of thirty-six pages bound between boards, comprising compositional and academic studies, including scenes from the Old and New Testament and classical mythology im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 15.138,08).
