Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work Fish by Gopal Ghose for USD 2,350.00 (€ 2,659.27). This price was achieved in the auction Indian and Southeast Asian including 20th Century at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gopal Ghose - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Forest Scenes), which sold at auction in December 2016 for INR 437,500.00 (€ 6,094.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2000 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Fish von Gopal Ghose für USD 2.350,00 (€ 2.659,27) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Indian and Southeast Asian including 20th Century bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gopal Ghose mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Forest Scenes) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2016 für INR 437.500,00 (€ 6.094,82) versteigert wurde.
