This artwork by Gopal Ghose achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2019. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,585.05) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gopal Ghose; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (Forest Scenes) sold at auction in December 2016 with the realized price of INR 437,500.00 (€ 6,094.82).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gopal Ghose erzielte im September 2019 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.585,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Gopal Ghose; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Untitled (Forest Scenes) im Dezember 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von INR 437.500,00 (€ 6.094,82).
