Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 212,500.00 (€ 189,208.44). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Govaert Flinck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An old man at a casement in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 10,327,500.00 (€ 9,479,118.86).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady In A Turban, Half-Length von Govaert Flinck kam im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 200.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 212.500,00 (€ 189.208,44) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Govaert Flinck erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An old man at a casement im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.327.500,00 (€ 9.479.118,86).
