Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gorse on Fire by Graham Sutherland was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2012. The price achieved of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 37,378.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Graham Sutherland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Crucifixion in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 713,250.00 (€ 789,078.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gorse on Fire von Graham Sutherland kam im Mai 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 37.378,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Graham Sutherland erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Crucifixion im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 713.250,00 (€ 789.078,55).
