Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Christies in London held the auction Modern British Art Day Sale, which included the work Welsh Landscape With Roads by Graham Sutherland. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 66,079.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Graham Sutherland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Crucifixion in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 713,250.00 (€ 789,078.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Welsh Landscape With Roads von Graham Sutherland zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 66.079,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Graham Sutherland erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Crucifixion im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 713.250,00 (€ 789.078,55).
