Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Lower Manhattan with the Last Windmill in New Jersey by Granville Perkins for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,563.23). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Granville Perkins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A schooner yacht in rough seas with other shipping in the distance, which sold at auction in July 2003 for USD 6,572.50 (€ 5,339.16).
