Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Bonhams held the auction The Sherman Collection | Prints & Multiples, which included the work Under the Southern Cross, 1999 by Guan Wei. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 600.00 – 900.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 615.00 (€ 379.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guan Wei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Playing With String in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 95,594.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion The Sherman Collection | Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Under the Southern Cross, 1999 von Guan Wei zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 600,00 – 900,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 615,00 (€ 379,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guan Wei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Playing With String im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.100.000,00 (€ 95.594,09).
