Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Guillaume Guillon-Lethière could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Kagan Collection auction, the work Coresus Sacrificing Himself To Save Callirhoe changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,390.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guillaume Guillon-Lethière achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Brutus Condemning His Sons in April 2018 with an auction result of USD 852,500.00 (€ 706,062.61).
