The »bidding war« ended at EUR 31,950.00 28% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gustave Achille Guillaumet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Man in Profile, Algeria, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 69,300.00 (€ 82,162.95).
