Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction Australian Art, which included the work Rottnest Island by Guy Grey-Smith. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,320.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Guy Grey-Smith have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2020 the work Mount Vernon, 1961 was auctioned for AUD 39,040.00 (€ 33,316.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rottnest Island von Guy Grey-Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.320,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Guy Grey-Smith konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im September 2020 die Arbeit Mount Vernon, 1961 für AUD 39.040,00 (€ 33.316,27) versteigert.
