This price was achieved in the auction Modern British Art Day Sale at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harold Gilman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interior (Mrs Mounter), which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 485,000.00 (€ 572,252.32).
