Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Harry Rountree could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Twentieth Century British Art auction, the work Cockatoo changed hands for GBP 188.00 (€ 307.33) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harry Rountree achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Tee in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,849.26).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Harry Rountree konnte im März 2002 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit Cockatoo für GBP 188,00 (€ 307,33) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harry Rountree erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On The Tee im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.849,26).
