In April 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Beyond Legends: Modern Art Evening Sale, which included the work Woman With Batik Robe by Hendra Gunawan. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 269,805.49), 68% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendra Gunawan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ali Sadikin Pada Masa Perang Kemerdekaan (Ali Sadikin During The Independence Struggle) in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 33,240,000.00 (€ 3,744,983.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im April 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Beyond Legends: Modern Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woman With Batik Robe von Hendra Gunawan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 2.520.000,00 (€ 269.805,49) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hendra Gunawan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ali Sadikin Pada Masa Perang Kemerdekaan (Ali Sadikin During The Independence Struggle) im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 33.240.000,00 (€ 3.744.983,83).
