13 7/8 in. (35.2 cm.) long
Carved in marble in 1914; cast in aluminium in an edition of 1; and cast in bronze in an edition of 12 by Fiorini on behalf of H.S. (Jim) Ede. A further 3 bronze numbered casts were taken by Bernard Meadows at the Royal College of Art, circa 1965-70, from a plaster owned by J. Wood Palmer.

Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British & Irish Art, which included the work Dog (Dachshund) by Henri Gaudier-Brzeska. It changed hands for a price of GBP 46,850.00 (€ 54,692.58) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henri Gaudier-Brzeska have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Homme Et Cheval in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 254,500.00 (€ 290,810.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dog (Dachshund) von Henri Gaudier-Brzeska zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 46.850,00 (€ 54.692,58) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henri Gaudier-Brzeska auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Homme Et Cheval im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 254.500,00 (€ 290.810,61).
