Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Henri Joseph Harpignies achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January last year. In the Old Master & British Drawings auction, the work Landscape with hunter, a boy and a dog sold for USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,919.02) - well above the upper estimate of USD 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Joseph Harpignies achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vue prise dans l'île de Capri, Golfe de Naples in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 160,000.00 (€ 171,526.59).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Henri Joseph Harpignies erzielte im Januar letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings wurde die Arbeit Landscape with hunter, a boy and a dog für USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.919,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Joseph Harpignies erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vue prise dans l'île de Capri, Golfe de Naples im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 160.000,00 (€ 171.526,59).
