Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Banlieue by Henri Rousseau was sold in the A Dialogue Through Art: Works from the Jan Krugier Collection Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in November 2013. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,085,000.00 (€ 797,442.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Rousseau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Flamants in May this year with an auction result of USD 43,535,000.00 (€ 40,862,586.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Banlieue von Henri Rousseau wurde im November 2013 in der Auktion A Dialogue Through Art: Works from the Jan Krugier Collection Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.085.000,00 (€ 797.442,30) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Rousseau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Flamants im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.535.000,00 (€ 40.862.586,82).
