Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Salvaging The Wreck by Henry Barlow Carter for GBP 235.00 (€ 343.76). This price was achieved in the auction At Home - British & Continental Pictures and Works on Paper at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Barlow Carter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mont Orgueil, Jersey in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,962.49).
