Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, which included the work Village Gossips In Beer, South Devon by Henry Garland. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 8,644.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Henry Garland have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in August 2007 the work Highlanders Going South was auctioned for GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,304.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Village Gossips In Beer, South Devon von Henry Garland zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 8.644,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Henry Garland konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im August 2007 die Arbeit Highlanders Going South für GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.304,38) versteigert.
