Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work David, Son Of Augustus John by Henry Lamb. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,896.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Lamb achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Cecil Beaton in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 162,900.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit David, Son Of Augustus John von Henry Lamb zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.896,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Lamb erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Cecil Beaton im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 137.500,00 (€ 162.900,36).
