Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mother and Child with Apple by Henry Moore was auctioned at Christies in London in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,300,000.00 – 5,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,402,000.00 (€ 3,870,432.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry Moore have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reclining Figure: Festival in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 24,722,500.00 (€ 29,675,067.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mother and Child with Apple von Henry Moore kam im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.300.000,00 – 5.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.402.000,00 (€ 3.870.432,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Moore auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Reclining Figure: Festival im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.722.500,00 (€ 29.675.067,53).
