Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2012 Christies in London held the auction Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work The meet by Samuel Henry Alken. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,561.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Samuel Henry Alken have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Start for the Derby; and Winning the Derby in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 105,687.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The meet von Samuel Henry Alken zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 11.561,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samuel Henry Alken auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Start for the Derby; and Winning the Derby im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 105.687,08).
