Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tyrrhenian Sea, Capri (no. 413) by Hiroshi Sugimoto was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,480.00 (€ 19,379.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).
