Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'N.Y. Still Life I' by Horst P. Horst was sold in the Photographs auction at Bonhams in London in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,200.00 (€ 3,028.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horst P. Horst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mainbocher Corset, Paris, 1939 in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 288,000.00 (€ 210,834.55).
