Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Attack by Howard Hodgkin was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in June 2018. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,365.27). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Howard Hodgkin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Goodbye to the Bay of Naples in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 1,688,750.00 (€ 1,925,505.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Attack von Howard Hodgkin wurde im Juni 2018 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.365,27) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Howard Hodgkin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Goodbye to the Bay of Naples im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.688.750,00 (€ 1.925.505,56).
