Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Visions of the West: American Paintings from the William I. Koch Collection, which included the work Leader of Men by Howard Terpning. The price achieved of USD 845,000.00 (€ 768,601.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 700,000.00 – 1,000,000.00. Other works by Howard Terpning have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in February 2019 the work Coffee Coolers Meet the Hostiles was auctioned for USD 1,392,500.00 (€ 1,223,745.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Visions of the West: American Paintings from the William I. Koch Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Leader of Men von Howard Terpning zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 845.000,00 (€ 768.601,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 700.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Howard Terpning konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Februar 2019 die Arbeit Coffee Coolers Meet the Hostiles für USD 1.392.500,00 (€ 1.223.745,50) versteigert.
