A top price for Hugh Ramsay - as previously expected
In August 2002 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Young Girl in Hat with Fan by Hugh Ramsay. The price achieved of AUD 35,250.00 (€ 19,753.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Young Girl in Hat with Fan is the most expensive artwork by Hugh Ramsay that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im August 2002 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Young Girl in Hat with Fan von Hugh Ramsay zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 35.250,00 (€ 19.753,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Young Girl in Hat with Fan das teuerste Kunstwerk von Hugh Ramsay, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
