This price was achieved in the auction Maritime at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Ian Hansen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The schooner yacht America, 1851 in July 2004 with an auction result of USD 10,157.50 (€ 8,442.07).
